The
following information will assist you in installing the
new Security Guys software for those clients that have
Security Guys Computers with version 5.3 or earlier of
the 2416 Security Guys Server program.
Download
the Security Guys Server 2416 program Version 5.5 by Clicking
Here
and downloading the Zip File.
To
download the Security Guys Remote Viewing (Client)
Software Click
Here.
After
receiving the program from us, please follow the
procedure listed below.
Open
your existing Security Guys Server program, go to setup
and write down settings for each camera (under the
camera tab). All cameras should be set on motion and you
need to set the record FPS (frames per second) for each
camera. If you cannot access this information, see Table
2 below for recommended settings.
Also
be sure you do not need to keep any video from your
current archived video files. If you do need to keep
some video, ascertain which camera(s) you need to keep.
Then
go into C\Program Files\SecurityGuys and make a copy (to
your desktop) of the cameras you need to keep video
from. NOTE: Folders are offset from camera number. Use
the chart below to be sure you are copying the correct
file(s).

Then
go to your Control Panel - Add/Delete Programs and
find the Security Guys Server 2416 Program and Delete
it.
Then
open the Security Guys Zip file you previously
downloaded, unzip the file onto your desktop or to a
folder where you can locate it, and click the
setup.exe file.
Then
open the program, go to Setup and follow the
instructions below:
Go
to the Camera tab and set all cameras to motion by
clicking on the record box until the word
"motion" appears. (Usually just one click)
Change
the fps (frames per second) to what it was in the
original program.

On
the lower right, be sure to click the box that says
"16 Ch".
Change
the Power/Shutdown box to Windows.
Change
the record type box to MPEG-4.
Restart
the Security Guys program and you should be back to
normal operation.
